The EASA Category B1.4 – Piston Engines Helicopter program at UKCBC, in collaboration with Omega Aviation Academy1, prepares students to become licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers specializing in piston-engine helicopters. This pathway provides intensive academic and practical training focused on piston-propelled rotary-wing aircraft, equipping students with the technical expertise to inspect, repair, and certify airworthiness in line with EASA Part-66 licensing standards.

Key features of the course:

  • Globally Recognized License – Upon successful completion, graduates receive an EASA Part-66 Category B1.4 Certificate of Recognition valid in the EU and internationally.
  • Specialized Focus – Emphasis on piston engine helicopter systems, structures, aerodynamics, and maintenance practices.
  • Collaborative Learning – Delivered through a tripartite structure: UKCBC (academic curriculum), Omega Aviation (certification), and Sarsan (hands-on training).

Entry requirements

Academic
  • High school diploma preferably with background in Mathematics and Physics
English proficiency
  • IELTS 5.0 or UKCBC internal test (minimum 50%)
Age
  • Minimum 18 years at enrollment
Medical
  • Valid medical fitness certificate
