Yes, completing work experience is a compulsory requirement to qualify as an ACCA member. This practical experience, known as the “Practical Experience Requirement” (PER), is essential for gaining full ACCA membership and becoming a Chartered Certified Accountant. Depending on any existing qualifications you may hold, exemptions can be awarded across:

  • The Foundation level qualifications and
  • The Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams of the ACCA Qualification.

No exemptions are awarded:

  • for the Strategic Professional exams of the ACCA Qualification or
  • on the basis of work experience
